Biography
Will Tomita is a fine art professional, curator, advisor, and trained appraiser whose experience spans commercial and nonprofit art contexts.
His professional background combines practical experience with academic training in appraisal methodology, valuation research, art law, finance, art markets, and the documentation of reasoned opinions. His primary subject-matter focus is modern, postwar, and contemporary art.
Tomita’s experience in the art world has informed a detailed understanding of the relationships among artists, galleries, auction houses, art fairs, institutions, collectors, and the broader markets in which works of art circulate. He is a Comprehensive Appraisal Studies Program Graduate from the Appraisers Association of America. He is the co-founder of Clubhouse Gallery and has previously served roles at The Winter Show, where he served as vetting coordinator, among other positions at art organizations in New York and Florida.
